Ashraf Aboul-Yazid analyzes the military scene in the Korean Peninsula on Nile TV (video)
Asia Program, the Nile News Channel, hosted the writer Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, President, Asia Journalist Association, where the recent political and military scene in the Korean Peninsula was discussed and analyzed, in an interview with the media personality Karima Al-Halafawi.
Ashraf Aboul-Yazid said that South and North Koreas always claim that the provocation comes from the other side, and if we look at the past, we see that there is a step from the South that is responded to by the North, and vice versa.
He added: “What is new this time is that the United States of America decided to send – for the first time in 40 years – a nuclear submarine, which required a reaction from North Korea.”
The “Asia” guest pointed out that the threat to Seoul that comes from the north does not require launching long-range missiles, as the distance between the two capitals is less than 200 kilometers, and the drones that penetrated South Korea’s territory angered President Yeol, who said that his visits to Jakarta and New Delhi, to meet with ASEAN The G20 summit will open the way to talk about this, and he asked that China should show a positive approach due to its influence on Pyongyang.
Ashraf Aboul-Yazid continued: “Twelve years ago, a new northern leader came, the young Kim Jong-un, and President Park came to be the first female president of the Republic of Korea, and a Japanese prime minister came with different orientations, and everyone thought that a new era would begin in the region in Japan, South and North Korea, but It all collapsed suddenly.
Korean President Park was impeached, Japanese Abe was assassinated after leaving the government, the rapprochement movement that former President Moon sought under the auspices of former US President Donald Trump stopped and failed, and it seemed that the whole world was diving headlong into wars, and we always see that the United States is a party that does not seek to put out the fires.
Ashraf Aboul-Yazid recounted his impressions during his recent visit to Korean cities. On the autonomous South Korean island of Jeju, no one hides his interest in peace with the neighbors in the north, and in Seoul itself, when he was visiting Basic church, he heard the preacher calling for goodness for the Koreans in the north. No one is willing to a war to destroy the prosperity that the Korean nation has achieved in the South.
